Presentation
Born from the imagination of the designers and engineers behind the Alpine of the 21st century, the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo is about to make its debut in the legendary video game Gran Turismo, bringing the Alpine spirit into millions of homes worldwide. Once downloaded in Gran Turismo 6, this exclusive model will allow players to take the wheel of a virtual concept car infused with the very DNA of the brand.
Because dreams sometimes take shape in the real world, Alpine presented its full-scale vision — a breathtaking creation unveiled at the Festival Automobile International on January 27, 2015.
Although the initial design brief was deliberately concise, it included one essential guideline that set it apart from conventional projects:
the rear section and the cockpit were to be the focal points, as these are the most admired angles in racing video games.
The experience begins with the front end, instantly evoking the legendary A110. The plunging V-shaped hood is accentuated by a sharp ridge running along the car’s centerline. Another nod to the 1960s, the X-shaped LED headlights recall the black tape crosses once used to protect the auxiliary lamps on rally Berlinettes.
These homages to the past blend seamlessly with modern aerodynamic features: a splitter channels airflow along the sides of the body, exposing the suspension wishbones. The hood openings reveal bright orange spring-damper units, mounted horizontally atop the carbon chassis.
