The Alpine A390 does not seek to please everyone. It is a car designed to answer a simple but ambitious question: how to offer an electric vehicle that is at once powerful, elegant, and genuinely enjoyable to drive?
On this point, Alpine clearly targets the Macan Electric, BMW iX3, Lotus Eletre or the Tesla Model Y Performance, but with a different approach.
Rather than opting for the SUV format, the French brand is betting on a sporty fastback sedan, lower, more agile, and more engaging to drive.
And with three electric motors, intelligent all-wheel drive, and up to 470 hp, the technical sheet has nothing to envy from segment benchmarks.
Two versions: Alpine A390 GT or GTS, two philosophies
| Version | Power | WLTP Range | Price incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| GT | 400 hp | up to 555 km | €67,500 |
| GTS | 470 hp | up to 503 km | €78,000 |

The GT will be available to order from November 4, 2025, with public orders opening on November 18.
The more powerful, better-equipped GTS will arrive in early 2026.
Performance: three motors, no excuses

Whether GT or GTS, the A390 relies on a tri-motor layout: one at the front, two at the rear, for dynamic all-wheel drive managed by the Alpine Active Torque Vectoring system.
This system adjusts torque individually to each rear wheel to optimize traction and handling.
| Key data | A390 GT | A390 GTS |
|---|---|---|
| Motors | 3 (1 F, 2 R) | 3 (1 F, 2 R) |
| Power | 400 hp | 470 hp |
| Torque | 661 Nm | 824 Nm |
| 0–100 km/h | 4.8 s | 3.9 s |
| Max speed | 200 km/h | 220 km/h |
On paper, the GTS rivals a high-end Macan Electric, but in a lower silhouette and with a sharper handling character thanks to a lower center of gravity and a “more controlled” weight (around 2,120 kg).
Fast charging and V2L / V2G technologies
In terms of range and charging, Alpine more than holds its own:
- Usable battery: 89 kWh
- WLTP range: up to 555 km (GT), 503 km (GTS)
- DC fast charging: up to 190 kW (15–80% in < 25 min)
- AC charging: 11 kW standard, 22 kW optional (€1,200)
- V2L: power external devices (bike, barbecue, laptop)
- V2G: bidirectional home-grid compatible

A heat pump comes standard to preserve range in cold weather without compromising comfort.
Equipment: premium, without excess
From the GT version, equipment is robust: 20’’ wheels, heated Alcantara® and Nappa leather seats, Devialet® 13-speaker audio system, integrated Google interface on 12’’ screen, dual-zone climate control, customizable ambient lighting, 360° camera, wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay.
The GTS adds:
- Forged 21’’ wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires
- Heated, massaging Sabelt® seats in Nappa leather
- Devialet® XtremeSound audio with “Space” spatialization
- Driving Pack (lane centering, automatic parking)
- Alpine Telemetrics Expert for data-driving enthusiasts

On-board life: practicality without compromise
The A390 is not just a technological object: it is also designed for daily use.
- Trunk: 532 L under parcel shelf, up to 1,643 L with seats folded
- 60/40 rear bench with 3 headrests
- Wheelbase: 2.71 m, offering good rear space
- Motorized tailgate, optional contrasting roof, abundant storage

Interior ambiance can be personalized via Atelier Alpine finishes: special paints (Mat Thunder Grey, Alpine Vision Blue), forged carbon seat shells, carbon inserts, black wheels, Racing Red or Alpine Blue brake calipers, etc.
Safety and ADAS: all expected assists
The Alpine A390 offers a complete suite of driving aids:
- Intelligent adaptive cruise control
- Lane keeping assist
- Autonomous emergency braking
- 360° camera
- Fatigue detection and drowsiness alert
- Distance alert, blind-spot alert, traffic sign recognition
- Hands-free parking (Driving Pack, standard on GTS)

An automatic emergency stop system will be activated during 2026 via OTA update.
French production, European distribution
The A390 is designed, produced and assembled in France:
- Chassis and final assembly: Alpine Manufacture Dieppe
- Electric motors: Cléon
- Batteries: Douai (Renault Group ElectriCity)

Alpine thus confirms its commitment to a European electric industry and strengthens its legitimacy in a segment currently dominated by German manufacturers.

Conclusion: a true European alternative
The Alpine A390 does not need past references to justify its place. What it offers today, in 2025, is a coherent alternative to the Macan Electric, iX3, Eletre or Model Y:
- real performance,
- sharp handling,
- local manufacturing,
- distinctive design,
- and a solid technical sheet without exaggerated promises.
By late November, international press tests will begin. The opportunity to take the wheel of the A390 and see, hands on the wheel, whether Alpine’s technical promise translates to the road.
