In early March 2026, readers of Auto Motor und Sport once again placed the Alpine A110 at the top of the “Sports Cars” category in the Best Cars awards.
Eighth win. 11.8% of the votes. Nearly 95,000 voters.
For a French car built in Dieppe, in a landscape dominated by German benchmarks, that kind of consistency is remarkable. And the symbolism is strong: production of the current A110 is coming to an end.
Just as the curtain is about to fall, it keeps on winning.
A110 R Ultime: the foundation, already extreme
The technical peak of this generation is called the Alpine A110 R Ultime. Everything flows from it — including “La Bleue”.

Limited to 110 examples, the A110 R Ultime pushes the aluminium platform to its ultimate road-legal limits:
- 345 hp at 6,000 rpm
- 420 Nm from 3,200 rpm
- 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds
- 3.2 kg/hp
Reworked turbocharger (turbine and compressor), strengthened gearbox, Akrapovič titanium exhaust, adjustable Öhlins dampers, AP Racing 330 mm bi-material brake discs: the intent is crystal clear.

Aerodynamics go further still with +160 kg of downforce at high speed compared with the A110 R Turini. Adjustable dual-plane rear wing, central fin, carbon blade, exposed carbon hood and roof: the Ultime is built for load, stability, and lap-after-lap consistency on track.
This is the technical baseline. Already radical.
“La Bleue”: an exclusive interpretation of the A110 R Ultime
“La Bleue” is not a separate model: it derives directly from the A110 R Ultime and retains its complete technical specification, chassis, aerodynamics and powertrain.
Out of the 110 A110 R Ultime built, only 15 examples wear this specific configuration. All of them are now sold.

The difference lies in the aesthetic and artisanal treatment. The bodywork blends Alpine Vision Blue and Abyss Blue in a hand-applied gradient in Dieppe. This isn’t a simple two-tone finish: the transition is gradual, crafted panel by panel. Each car demands an execution time that simply doesn’t fit standardized production.

The cabin extends that same approach. The blue leather developed with Poltrona Frau covers much of the interior, paired with bucket seats from Sabelt. Embroidery, embossing, bespoke finishes: “La Bleue” represents the most accomplished level of the Atelier Sur-Mesure program applied to the A110 R Ultime.
At €330,000 incl. tax, it is the most exclusive interpretation of an already limited series.
A distinction, a peak, an end of cycle
The Best Cars 2026 win underlines that the A110 hasn’t only shone through its ultimate editions, but through its overall balance since 2017. The A110 R Ultime is its most advanced mechanical expression. “La Bleue” is its most spectacular and most artisanal translation.
In a few months, thermal production in Dieppe will stop. Alpine’s story will continue in another form.
But between this eighth German award and those fifteen A110 R Ultime “La Bleue” cars, the current generation exits with rare coherence: a model praised for its driving feel, and a final interpretation that pushes the concept all the way.
