After a celebrated debut at the Rallye de l’Indre, the Alpine A290 Rallye Trophy is now preparing for its first complete competitive year. What began as a bold trial—introducing Alpine’s new compact rally contender in a dedicated monotype trophy—has rapidly become one of the most anticipated additions to the 2026 French rally season.

While the more established Alpine Elf Rally Trophy, built around the A110 Rallye, continues to evolve in parallel, the A290 programme opens a fresh lane. It reflects Alpine’s ambition to diversify its motorsport structure and welcome a new generation of drivers into the brand’s ecosystem.

Alpine A290 Rallye Trophy : A calendar built around Alpine’s heritage

For 2026, the trophy will follow six key rounds of the French Rally Championship, chosen for their technical diversity and historic resonance with Alpine’s rallying past.

Provisional 2026 calendar

  • March 26–28 – Rallye Le Touquet Pas-de-Calais
  • June 12–14 – Rallye Vosges Grand Est
  • July 9–11 – Rallye Rouergue Rodez Aveyron Occitanie
  • September 3–5 – Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine
  • September 25–27 – Rallye Cœur de France
  • October 22–24 – Critérium des CévennesPending final FFSA approval.

From the coastal winds of Le Touquet to the unpredictable downpours of the Cévennes, the calendar offers a demanding yet coherent terrain for the A290 Rally’s first full campaign.

A scoring system designed to reward both speed and consistency

Unlike the Alpine Elf Rallye Trophy, which scores the top ten competitors only, the A290 Rallye Trophy introduces a wider structure that values a broader field and adds incentive for late-stage performance through bonus points.

introduction to the 2026 points table

Below is the official scoring scale for the 2026 Alpine A290 Rallye Trophy.

The system rewards the top fifteen finishers of each round, ensuring every position plays a strategic role in the championship fight. This expanded barème is designed to maintain suspense while recognising consistency as well as outright pace.

For its first full season, the Alpine A290 Rallye Trophy introduces an expanded scoring system designed to reward both outright performance and consistent results. Points are awarded to the top fifteen finishers on each round, forming the backbone of the 2026 championship structure.

Additionally, the three fastest competitors on each of the final six special stages earn performer points, worth up to three bonus points per stage. Only the best five results of the season count toward the final standings, an approach aligned with contemporary monotype concepts.

A technical and sporting framework built for fairness

Alpine Racing will provide a complete technical environment, including

  • dedicated assistance,
  • on-site parts service,
  • controlled Michelin tyre allocation,
  • and energy-efficient charging solutions tailored to the A290 Rally.

Strict technical checks will ensure full fairness across the field, supporting Alpine’s philosophy of placing driver skill and strategic management at the forefront.

Prize money and incentives for 2026

With more than €236,000 in prize money and end-of-season awards, the A290 Rally Trophy launches as one of the most attractive monotype rally competitions in France. Each crew will also have the opportunity to partner with a local Alpine Store through a dedicated challenge, providing additional visibility and targeted promotional activities.

The overall champion will be rewarded with an official Alpine Racing programme, mirroring the pathway already established within the Alpine Elf Rally Trophy.

A regional trophy to broaden access

Alongside the national series, Alpine will also introduce the A290 Regional Trophy, enabling drivers to compete across several disciplines such as rallies, hill climbs, and other local events. A selection of the best results will contribute to a separate ranking, with a prize pool reaching several tens of thousands of euros.

This regional dimension expands the A290’s reach, offering a flexible and adaptable entry point for privateers.
